Levitas lighting
Levitas lighting
The work made for Phanes a newly founded company that produces lighting systems where a very refined concept matches high-quality craftsmanship consists of an editorial project for all the collections conceived as a series of tales that reflect and amplify the link between innovation and tradition expressed by each of them.
The catalog for Levitas, a collection of lamps envisioned as suspended primordial bubbles of light, has been designed as an art book where every element - image, color, typeface, paper - is attuned with the company's philosophy and with the lightness that the Latin term levitas evokes. Images drawn from ancient iconographical collections, thin and serif typefaces confer a great lightness to the composition where pages filled with color follow white pages with types and images that seem suspended.
The continuity with the firm's project to conjugate modernity and Italian tradition becomes explicit in the dialog between abstract photographic details, light and dynamic types, ancient drawings and refined papers.
