Dior Astro
The project of a temporary store for Dior fashion house is the fruit of a collaboration with BarbaritoBancel Architects, Paris.
The provisional and occasional character of a shop working just for short periods, convinced us to imagine a space inspired by the art of divination, forecasting the future by means of signs and symbols and by astrology, to which Christian Dior was faithfully devoted.
The oblong shape of the location suggested a layout composed of three different places each of them dedicated to a specific aspect of the world of precognition: talismans, stars and tarot. Objects on sale - between dream and desire - appear immersed in an astrolabe, or like the cards of a fortune-teller.
The accurate iconographic research and the study of signs are translated into images saturated with symbology but light and ethereal, like the heart/ex-voto, placed at the end of the sequence as a perspective focus
